THE LIZARD AND THE TOAD

A lizard and a toad were out looking for food. As they approached the corner of a house, they both saw a fly on the ground at the same time. The fly, to them, was food. So engrossed were they with the fly that they failed to notice each other.

Immediately the lizard leaped towards the fly, hoping to catch the fly in its mouth. The toad shot its tongue out at the fly in its month. The toad shot its tongue out at the fly, hoping to catch it too.

Everything happened very quickly.

Alas, the fly as very aleart. It was able to avoid both the leaping lizard and the outstretched toad's tongue. The lizard missed fly and caught the tongue. The tongue missed the fly and caught the lizard.

Both the lizard and the toad thought they had caught the fly. When they tried to swallow their 'fly' they found it too large. Only after a while didi they realise their mistake. They had caught the wrong thing.
