WAITING FOR THE LIFT

On the ground-floor, Mr. Tan waited for the lift to come.

Presently the lift reached the ground-floor and the door opened. However, just as Mr. Tan was about to step into the lift, a crowd of people suddenly arrived and rushed into the lift. Mr. Tan actually pushed aside by an inconsiderable old man.

Finally when everyone else had got into the lift, Mr. Tan struggled in. The door of the lift had begun to close and Mr. Tan just made it into the lift. He was nearly left behind.

It was hot inside the lift. Wearing a tie made things worse and Mr. Tan had to loosen it.

When the lift arrived at the tenth-floor, Mr. Tan wobbled out. It had been a bad experience riding in a lift full of people.
