Bio 6 :Autotrophic Nutrition

1. Autotrophic nutrition can be divided into 2 :

a. Chemosynthesis :

*Synthesising organic compounds by using energy from the oxidation of inorganic chemical substances such as carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, nitrogen or ammonia.
Examples of chemoautotroph are : sulphur bacteria which oxidises sulphur to sulphate and Nitrosomones sp. which oxidises ammonium to nitrite.

b.Photosynthesis :
*Synthesising  organic compounds from carbon dioxide and water in the presence of sunlight . All green plants carry out  photosynthesis.
